Digital nomad life isn’t for everyone.

Zagreb isn’t your likely destination when visiti Zagreb isn’t your likely destination when visiting Croatia 🇭🇷

In fact, lots of people never make it up this way. But digital nomads do!

Here’s the reasons we chose Zagreb as our digital nomad hub for the month of July:

💸 AFFORDABLE COST OF LIVING
Zagreb is less crowded during the summer time which means you get more deals on things like accommodation - its much cheaper than Split or Dubrovnik! Here’s some numbers (in USD) to give you a better picture:

🚊 Public transport = $0.80
☕️ Coffee + drinks = $2 - $4
🍽 Eating Out = $9 - $12
🛶 Activities = $5 - $50

👯‍♀️ GROWING DIGITAL NOMAD COMMUNITY
We’re surprised by how strong the community is in Zagreb! We made friends during our first coworking event & found an awesome group of digital nomads to hang out with ever since.

👩🏻‍💻 DECENT CAFE & COWORKING SCENE
We cowork at cafes with our friends at least 2-3 times a week. Coworking is kind of expensive here and imo not worth it because it’s too ‘corporate’ for our liking.

⛺️ GREAT BASE TO EXPLORE CROATIA
Plitvice Lakes is 2.5 hours away & popular coast towns like Pula, Zadar or Rovinj are only 3-4 hours drive away. You get the structure that comes from having a base but you get to travel/explore on the weekends - kinda perfect!

☺️ COMFORTABLE LIFESTYLE
Public transport is a breeze in Zagreb - you can take a bus, tram or walk into the city fairly quick. It's super safe here!

We’ve lived in Zagreb as digital nomads for a couple weeks now and tbh - we didn’t love it at first. But after some time, we can now say we are seriously enjoying our lifestyle here. The community is amazing and we’re so glad we chose Zagreb! It’s just so peaceful and comfortable (which you don’t expect from a capital city)!

Would you consider being a digital nomad in Zagreb?

Want to listen to digital nomad podcasts?

Podcasts have gotten huge in the last couple of years. Matthew and I love to listen to podcasts whenever we are going on a long road trip, during a workout, whenever we fly or going for long walks. They are great because it doesn’t add anything to your digital nomad luggage as a physical book would but they still pack a punch. When you listen to a podcast you:

  • learn something
  • get inspired
  • hear from experts themselves

Whether you’re just learning how to become a digital nomad, kick-starting your travels already or an experienced digital nomad for several years now – digital nomad podcasts will help you BUT…

…not just any digital nomad podcast will do!

No one likes to waste their time and that’s why handpicked each digital nomad podcast on this list. As digital nomads ourselves, we believe these are the top 7 digital nomad podcasts that will teach you something, inspire you and even entertain you!

Conclusion: Digital Nomad Podcasts Pack A Punch!

What Are Digital Nomad Podcasts?

A digital nomad podcast is usually a 30 minute to 1-hour long audio chat about all things digital nomad. This means you can easily consume the content and even put it on while doing other things! You can learn several things about the digital nomad life on these podcasts including:

  • how to travel like a minimalist
  • starting a side hustle
  • becoming a business owner
  • how to stay productive while traveling
  • chats with experts in their industry
  • and so much more!

These topics are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to listening to digital nomad podcasts.

Why Should You Listen To Digital Nomad Podcasts?

Is it your dream to have the freedom that comes with the digital nomad lifestyle?

Do you wish you could just take off to the next country on a whim?

Want to start your own business and travel the world?

Looking for new ways to make money online?

If you said “yes” to any of that – you should just listen to digital nomad podcasts!

  • Digital nomad podcasts are informative. They are helpful and give you lots of insights into every aspect of this lifestyle. Whether that’s how to work online, how to travel better or experiences in specific countries as digital nomads – you can listen about it all.
  • You can do other things while listening. There’s no need to have your full 100% focus on it – you can go for a walk, exercise or even do your house chores!
  • Learn from experts themselves. I feel like that gets overlooked – you literally get to hear from these experts themselves. In the old days, you had to pay exuberant amounts to hear experts speak on a panel. Now we can listen to them on our phones. How cool is technology?!

But maybe…

…Podcasts aren’t your thing? That’s cool too – check out our list of the best digital nomad books here.

3x Criteria For The Best Digital Nomad Podcasts

Digital nomad podcasts have become super popular to create…

…but not so popular to be consistent with and maintain.

For some reason, people start podcasts and don’t follow through after a couple of episodes – which is fine but that means it just won’t make it onto this list of the best digital nomad podcasts.

That’s right – I have curated this list and handpicked every single podcast on this list. Here are some of the criteria I used to create this list of the top 7 digital nomad podcasts.

#1. If new content hasn’t been added in a year and a half, it won’t make it on this list.

We’re here for the digital nomad podcasts that stay consistent and deliver value week on week. While I would love to include some of the super popular digital nomad podcasts, they just have stopped posting for whatever reason. If there isn’t new content, it just won’t make it onto this list.

#2. The digital nomad podcasts must be related to this lifestyle in some way.

All these podcasts have something in common – they talk about the digital nomad lifestyle. Whether that’s how to make money online, how to travel like a minimalist or anything under that umbrella – that’s what their content is about. For example, while this podcast “Digital Nomad Quest” includes the words “digital nomads”, most of the content is actually just about real estate investing, etc. I didn’t want to include podcasts that just try to grab some of the digital nomad audience and the rest of their content is irrelevant to us.

#3. The hosts must have been or are currently digital nomads.

Who wants to learn from someone that doesn’t walk the talk right?

The podcast hosts must be or have been digital nomads for some time in their lives – otherwise, it won’t end up on this list. It’s hard to talk about it when you have zero experience yourself. I personally went to each host’s profile to see if they have for a significant period of time or are still currently living the digital nomad lifestyle.

digital nomad podcast shows

Curating the list of the best digital nomad podcasts was pretty hard, I won’t lie. With the criteria I mentioned above, there honestly aren’t many out there that are still podcastin’. For example, one of the popular digital nomad podcasts, Screw The Nine to Five, no longer exists nor does the hosts live the digital nomad lifestyle anymore.

It’s safe to say this is the most up-to-date digital nomad podcasts list out there.

Top 7x Digital Nomad Podcasts Worth The Listen in 2023

While it was tempting to include 20+ digital nomad podcasts on this list, we didn’t want to overwhelm you – I mean you can only consume so much content. That’s why we curated a shortlist of the 7 best digital nomad podcasts currently out there.

If you’re looking to transition into the digital nomad lifestyle or you’re already a digital nomad looking for some inspiration…keep reading!

Novi Sad, this charming town is the best day trip Novi Sad, this charming town is the best day trip from Belgrade🇷🇸

Looking to escape the city life? It’s easy enough to catch the train, Novi Sad is a small town perfect for chilling, wandering around and drinking coffee at the cute cafes.

HOW TO GET THERE 🚊
Take the Coco high-speed trains that get you to Novi Sad in only 36 mins. Buy tickets via the app - Srbija voz and it’s only going to cost $3.40 USD for a one-way first class ticket.

COFFEE ☕️
Sit at a cafe and enjoy a cup of coffee - Zenit Books & Loft Downtown.

FOOD 🥘
Pls try Burek - the best place in Novi Sad is 100% Burek. Kombinat is a popular place to have lunch. But we recommend grabbing food from Maxi and having a picnic at Danube Park!

SEE, DO 🏰
Visit the Petrovaradin Fortress at sunset, chill on the ‘beach’ - The Strand, walk around Danube Park & stare at the beautiful Name of Mary Catholic Church.

You can spend a day in Novi Sad or it’s also great for a weekend getaway. Whichever you choose, just don’t miss Novi Sad on your digital nomad travels through Serbia 🇷🇸
