As the digital nomad movement grows, we are starting to see more and more coworking spaces pop up everywhere in the world…
…And coworking in Merida is no exception!
While there is so much to do in Merida, sometimes you just have to put your head down and work. A coworking space allows you to focus, have access to fast and reliable wifi and possibly meet some new friends.
We spent almost a month as Merida digital nomads and we had a great apartment that we mostly worked from. However, we wanted to test out the coworking spaces (like we usually do wherever we go). We tested a couple and here’s our list of the 3 best coworking Merida has to offer.
What Makes A Coworking Space Great?
You might be wondering, “How do I know if it’s a good coworking space?”. It’s a great question to ask because you’re going to spend most of your weekdays there and obviously pay for a membership.
Here are the top 3 criteria we look at when considering joining a coworking space:
- Comfortable desks and chairs: That’s right – digital nomads don’t actually work from the beach. Matthew and I would join one space over another if they had spacious desks and ergonomic chairs. It does make a difference for us and we prefer to be comfortable since we usually work around 6 hours a day.
- Fast and reliable wifi: The last thing you want is to be on a Zoom meeting call and it suddenly drops off! As digital nomads, it’s our responsibility to book and join coworking spaces that have reliable wifi for our clients, employers, etc. When we were digital nomads in Asia, the average wifi speeds were between 40-200 Mbps. While we were Latin American digital nomads, the average wifi speeds were slower at around 10-100 Mbps.
- Vibrant community with events: Loneliness is one of the most common reasons why digital nomads quit life on the road. That’s why it’s so vital to immerse yourself in digital nomad communities. Coworking spaces are an easy place to make new friends and join events that you’re interested in.
Now that you know all the things that make a coworking space great, here’s a list of the best coworking Merida has to offer.
3 Best Coworking Spaces, Merida Mexico
Are you planning on becoming a Merida digital nomad? We absolutely loved our time there and wish we could have stayed longer. Merida is dubbed as the safest place to live in Mexico – no wonder it’s got so many tourists and digital nomads flocking there each year.
With the rise of digital nomads, there have been more and more coworking spaces in Merida. While we were living in Merida, we mostly worked from home with our other digital nomad friends, but we did set aside a couple of days to test out the coworking Merida has to offer.
Here’s what all 3 of the best coworking spaces in Merida have:
- Fast wifi
- Friendly staff
- Comfortable seating
- Reasonable pricing options
Let’s get started and find you a space to focus and get some real work done. Note: I’ve also added a couple of cafes you can work from below in case coworking spaces aren’t your thing.
1. Conexion60 Coworking Merida
This is our #1 coworking space in Merida!
We spent a day working from Conexion60 and after trying Playa del Carmen coworking spaces and San Cristobal de las Casas coworking spaces – we can confirm this is a true competitor.
Conexion60 was a little difficult for us to find at first and we spent a good 15 minutes searching all around Paseo 60. We called the lovely receptionist and she guided us to the right spot. The entrance is located next to Merci Paseo 60 restaurant and you have to sign in and then head up the elevator to access the coworking space.
A lovely staff member greeted us and she spoke great English! She told us everything that was included like coffee, water, tea, etc then clearly explained the membership options. They offer office spaces, meeting rooms and call booths.
We thought the coworking space was very spacious and clean and had comfortable desks and chairs for everyone. The design of the space might have been a little too corporate for me but it’s fine since they didn’t sacrifice on good desks and chairs. We were so impressed with the wifi speeds and we could tell there was a digital nomad community right away.
This coworking space in Merida is open 24/7 in case you need to work in European time zones and offers great security throughout the building. Conexion60 is an ideal space to get stuff done and we believe it’s one of the best coworking Merida has to offer you!
USD Prices for Conexion60 Coworking Merida:
- Day Pass: $12
- 12 Day Pass: $117
- Monthly Pass: $205
Hours: Monday to Sunday, 24/7 for members
Wifi Speed: 80+ Mbps
Community: Definitely exists but didn’t see any upcoming events
Desk & Chairs: Modern and extremely comfortable
2. Terraza60 Coworking Merida
If you want a more relaxed, boho-chic aesthetic for a coworking space in Merida then Terraza60 is probably the one for you. They have an outdoor seating terrace area where you can work from a picnic table and enjoy the sunshine.
What happens when it gets too hot? There’s an inside area that has a couple of desks and ergonomic chairs to suffice. This coworking in Merida also includes coffee and water, air-conditioning and parking, and it’s pet-friendly too!
Terrazza60 isn’t the biggest coworking space but it certainly doesn’t give off any corporate vibes. You can focus and get work done here but with the decor, you’ll still be reminded that you’re in tropical Merida, Mexico!
I think the pricing is a little steep for what you get especially when you compare it to Conexion60 but it’s still a great alternative if that corporate style is not your thing.
USD Price for Terraza60 Coworking Merida:
- Day Pass: $10
- 1 Week Pass: $44
- 1 Month Pass: $123
- 6 Months Pass: $682

Internet Speed: 30+ Mbps

This co-working space in Merida is located a 25-minute drive from the Centro Historico. If you’re willing to take an Uber or live somewhere nearby – you’re in for a treat! Enter_Work has several different membership options:
This Merida coworking space is also open 24/7, with parking, coffee and tea, ergonomic furniture and some common spaces for everyone to mingle. While the internet speed might not be the fastest of the 3, the clean and beautiful space makes it worth it.

Bonus: Rrom Coworking Merida
Rrom Coworking is actually where we tried to go first but it was closed for repairs. We were looking forward to working from Rrom because it seemed like the best space in terms of value for money. On their Google listing, it said temporarily closed but it seems like it is back up and running again now.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of a coworking space?
There are so many benefits to joining a coworking space. We find we are most productive when we’re in a coworking space! It’s the perfect place to focus, eliminate distractions and separate your work life from your personal life. Coworking spaces also often have great amenities (e.g. meeting rooms, tea and coffee etc.) and they’re a great place to meet like-minded people and be part of a community.
What are the disadvantages of coworking?
While we think coworking spaces are great, there are some disadvantages to be aware of. They can be noisy and it’s easy to get distracted, they’re not available everywhere and they’re not as cheap as working from home or a cafe. Coworking spaces also differ greatly, so it’s hard to know before you join if it’s going to be worth the fee. Despite all of this, we love coworking! For us, the benefits of coworking far outweigh to disadvantages.
