Are you looking for a convenient and reliable way to stay connected while traveling abroad?
Here’s the problem:
Whenever you go overseas you usually only have 2 options:
- Go through the hassle of getting a local SIM card
- Pay ridiculous roaming fees
But here’s the good news…

But the big question is – How good is Airhub’s eSIM performance?
In this Airhub eSIM review, I’ll cover everything from our own personal experience with Airhub eSIMs to costs and coverage (and so much more). I break down all the top features of Airhub to help you decide whether Airhub is right for you!
Airhub eSIM Review: What is Airhub?
Think of Airhub as a huge online store for buying eSIMs in over 190+ countries worldwide.
An eSIM is like a SIM card – but better.
And Airhub has a ton of eSIM plans that can include:
- Data
- Local call minutes
- SMS
- International call minutes
Airhub makes it easy to stay connected overseas without buying a new physical SIM card each time you travel. Airhub’s eSIMs are fast and reliable and will help you save money on roaming charges when traveling abroad.
How Does Airhub eSIM Work?
eSIMs work just like traditional SIM cards, but there is no need to install a physical SIM card on your phone.
When you buy an eSIM from Airhub, they send you an activation code and give you instructions on how to install the eSIM on your phone. Airhub offers eSIMs for both iPhone and Android phones and even has a powerful app that allows you to purchase directly from your phone. More on that later.
When you land in the country you are traveling to, simply activate the Airhub eSIM and connect to the local network.
It’s as easy as that!
Review Of Airhub’s Top Features
Now that you know what Airhub is, let’s look closer at Airhub’s top features.
They have a great range of features that provide an excellent eSIM experience combined with affordable plans.
Local eSIM Data Plans
Think of local eSIM data plans like buying a SIM card for a single country.
Airhub offers local data plans in over 190+ countries at very competitive prices.
Airhub’s local eSIM data plans are reliable – and for most countries, they offer a large selection of plans so you can choose how much data you need and how long you need it. Some Airhub eSIM plans even come with voice minutes so you can make local calls!
But the big question is…
How much do Airhub local plans cost?
Below are some of the eSIM packages offered by Airhub in 10 popular travel destinations around the world:
Country | Data Plans & Prices (USD) |
France | 30 days – 3GB – $730 days – 5GB – $11.5
30 days – 10GB – $15.5 |
Mexico | Only Included in the Global plan.
No single-country plan is available. |
United States | 30 days – 3GB – $1030 days – 5GB – $14
30 days – 10GB – $25 |
Italy | 30 days – 3GB – $730 days – 5GB – $10
30 days – 10GB – $15 |
Hungry | 30 days – 5GB – $15
30 days – 10GB – $25 |
Turkey | 30 days – 3GB – $1030 days – 5GB – $13
30 days – 10GB – $20 |
Greece | 30 days – 3GB – $10
30 days – 5GB – $13 |
Colombia | None available. |
Indonesia | 30 days – 3GB – $12
30 days – 5GB – $18 |
Pretty good, right?
The truth is that the plans above are just a taste of what Airhub offers in each country. For example, in France, Airhub has 10+ plans to choose from. Just check out the image below:
You’ll also notice that Airhub doesn’t have strong coverage in Latin America. They don’t have sing-country plans for Mexico or Colombia which their top competitors do.
But where Airhub really stands out from its competitors is the price-to-value ratio.
While most of the best eSIM providers only have plans with strict limits, Airhub offers tons of unlimited data plans in most countries. So if you are heading overseas and plan to use a lot of data, you can purchase unlimited data for the country you are traveling to.
Cool, right?
Airhub’s local eSIMs provide excellent value for money with unbeatable convenience.
Plus, they have tons of different plans to choose from, giving you the flexibility you need whether you are on holiday for a week or doing some serious travel for a month!
Just be aware that Airhub charges a small credit/debit card processing fee with every transaction. While it’s usually less than $1-$2 – just be aware of it!
The good news is that you can get a 3% discount on your eSIM plan by using discount code AHTTA3 to at checkout!
Regional eSIM Data Plans
Airhub’s Regional eSIM Plans are the perfect choice if you plan to travel to multiple countries and want to stay connected without having to buy a new SIM card each time.
How do is it work?
Airhub offers regional plans that cover multiple countries within a single region. For example, they have a European regional plan covering up to 49 countries, territories and islands.
If you are heading to Europe and will travel through multiple countries, the European regional plan could save a ton of money and hassle every time you change country. As soon as you cross the border on a train/bus or fly into a new country, simply switch on your data and you’re connected.
It doesn’t get easier than that!
How many Regional plans does Airhub have?
Airhub currently offers a total of 4 regional plans:
- Africa
- Asia-Pacific
- Europe
- North-America
Airhub even has a global international plan. More on that later!
So the big question then is – how much does it cost?
The truth is that Airhub has done an incredible job of offering a ton of different plans within each region. There is literally something for everyone, no matter your budget, how long you are traveling for or how much data you consume.
Here’s a brief breakdown of the regional plans:
Region | Number Of Countries Included | Plans & Prices (USD) |
Africa | 7 Countries | 10 days – 3GB – $25 |
Asia-Pacific | 9-4 Countries | 30 days – 5GB – $2030 days – 10GB – $40
30 days – Unlimited – $69 |
Europe | 15-45 Countries | 30 days – 3GB – $1130 days – 6GB – $18
30 days – 10GB – $23.5 |
North America | 3 Countries | 30 days – Unlimited – $140 |
And because some of you are thinking it…
Yes, Airhub even offers unlimited data plans in some of their regions. So all you data-hungry people out there will be satisfied.
Airhub even has a few 1-year plans in Europe ranging from 10GB to 100GB for the year. Not bad, right?
The only downside is that the regions that Airhub currently covers are limited. For example, there is just one plan for both the Africa and North-American regions.
But in Europe and Asia-Pacfic, their plans are comprehensive and can even include local call minutes! It ultimately comes down to where you are traveling and what you need. If you are looking for a good eSIM in Europe, make sure you check out our complete guide to the best eSIM for Europe right now.
We use regional plans whenever it works because it’s much easier!
If you are heading out to multiple countries, check out the regional plans that Airhub offers first. It could save time and money, making your trip way more convenient.
Global eSIM Data Plan
Think of the global plan like an international data plan.
Airhub offers a global plan for those traveling across multiple regions and countries.
Airhub’s Global Data Plan covers up to 56+ countries and territories, including parts of the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Middle East and more.
You purchase one eSIM and get the benefit of being connected online in a huge number of countries worldwide.
The pricing is also very reasonable considering all the countries included (especially when you compare it to Airhubs top competitors).
Here’s a breakdown of what’s included in Airhub’s global plans:
Days Valid | Countries Included | Data | Price |
10 Days | 26 | 6GB | $18 |
30 Days | 56 | 3GB | $20 |
While these prices are very competitive when considering what you are getting, the number of countries is limited. And you can only buy a small amount of data, so if you use a lot of data – it probably won’t work for you.
But if the countries you visit line up with what’s included in the global eSIM plans offered by Airhub, this could be a good investment.
If you plan on doing some fast travel through multiple countries, it’s definitely worth checking out Airhub’s global eSIM plans before you start your trip!
Monthly Esim Plans
Most eSIM providers only offer prepaid eSIM data plans.
This has been the standard in the eSIM industry for a long time and it works well.
But what if you spend a few months in 1 country and want to avoid the hassle of manually topping up your data or voice minutes each month?
That’s where Airhubs monthly plans come in!
You select the monthly plan you want and it automatically renews each month. The best part is that many of these plans can include unlimited voice minutes and SMS – so you get everything!
Airhub currently only offers automatic monthly subscription plans in:
- The United States
- The United Kingdom
- Switzerland
While Airhub only offers a few monthly plans, they are really affordable. Here’s how much you can expect in each country:
Country | Inclusions | Plans & Prices (USD) |
United States | Data, Calls, Local Phone Number | 30 days – 5GB – $1630 days – 15GB – $25
30 days – Unlimited – $50 |
United Kingdom | Data, SMS, Calls, Local Phone Number | 30 days – 6GB – $14.830 days – 20GB – $17 |
Switzerland | Data, SMS, Calls, Local Phone Number | 30 days – Unlimited – $48 |
Most international eSIM providers don’t offer monthly plans. So this really puts Airhub out in front. And if you compare their monthly plans with local monthly plans, the prices and offerings are really competitive.
Here’s what I mean…
AT&T in the United States has a few different prepaid plans that you can purchase on a monthly recurring basis:
Now compare these with Airhubs US monthly recurring plans:
The unlimited plan from Airhub is the same price and offers the same benefits as AT&T. It’s also on the AT&T network and it doesn’t require you to go to AT&T and submit your ID and go through the hassle of setting up a new SIM Card.
But that’s not all…
The 16GB monthly plan from AT&T costs $25 USD per month if you pay the entire thing up front for 12 months (A total of $300 USD). The 15GB month plan from Airhub also costs $25 USD per month but doesn’t require any long-term commitment.
And remember, all of Airhub’s plans are on the AT&T network!
It’s worth mentioning that Airhub doesn’t support hotspots for their monthly plans. But AT&T also charges extra if you want this benefit.
Note: Most of Airhubs local single-country data plans DO support hotspots. If you need to hotspot from your phone, go for the pre-paid plans and double-check the terms and conditions.
Airhub’s monthly plans are innovative and cost-effective. It’s something that most of their competitors don’t have and can save you a ton of money if you are spending multiple months in a single country!
Easy eSIM Comparisons With A Great Experience
Airhub’s eSIM experience is up there with the best – especially on the desktop version of the site.
One of the big things that make Airhub stand out from other international eSIM companies is the number of plans they offer in individual countries.
But they have also done a great job creating a website that lets you find and buy the right eSIM quickly.
The site is easy to use and you can compare all their plans. Airhub has a detailed list of all the countries their global eSIMs work in, as well as an easy-to-understand breakdown of prices for each plan.
To top it off, Airhub also has a great customer service team ready to help you with any questions. You can contact them quickly through the chat widget in the bottom right of the screen.
They also have live chat support, so you can get your questions answered quickly. This is something that many other eSIM providers are yet to offer!
There is no doubt that Airhub has done an excellent job creating a great eSIM experience that makes finding, comparing and purchasing eSIMs efficient and convenient.
Easy To Use Phone App
Airhub also has a minimalist-style phone app.
The Airhub app is well-designed and gives you access to all Airhubs plans, accounts and settings in one convenient space. It’s an efficient way to manage your eSIMs without opening your computer.
But there is one other reason I love the Airhubs phone app…
As a digital nomad couple, we travel to new digital nomad destinations almost every month. Being constantly on the move, we do many things on our iPhones.
That includes buying eSIMs.
Airhub’s app is easy to navigate, and the minimalist style makes it efficient to quickly find and compare all of their plans.
We often buy the eSIM for the next country while in a taxi on the way to the airport in the current country. The experience Airhub offers with their app is really good.
Especially when you consider that you can literally manage your entire account with it!
But there are also a couple of downsides to the app…
That app sometimes feels clunky and is almost too minimalist in style.
The other thing they could improve is to make checking your data usage easier. Most other eSIM providers we use regularly show your data usage front and center whenever you open the app.
With Airhub, it takes a few clicks to see where you are up to.
Overall the app is good and makes purchasing eSIMs convenient, but there is always a bit of room for improvement.
Airhub eSIM Pros & Cons
Airhub has a lot of great features to offer travelers, digital nomads, expats, remote workers and even business travelers.

Our Personal Experience With Airhub eSIMs
We recently purchased an eSIM from Airhub as we traveled to Thailand.
And we were really impressed with the results. The eSIM package we got was the 15 days 30GB unlimited, including 15 THB of call credit for just $9.
That’s a great deal!
It was set up on the DTAC network, which is one of the best mobile data providers in Thailand.
But how was the eSIM performance?
We consistently got speeds between 15 and 30 Mbps.
In Bangkok, there were even moments where speeds increased above 50+ Mbps.
And those speeds remained stable as we traveled to the islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Samui. Thailand does have excellent mobile infrastructure which definitely helps with performance.
But the fact that you can buy an eSIM in a few minutes and connect to decent mobile speeds is amazing!
Airhub Alternatives
How does Airhub stack up against its competitors?
Each eSIM provider offers different features and benefits. These are the top alternatives to Airhub right now.
Airalo vs Airhub
Airalo is one of the best eSIM providers out there.
They have built a powerful eSIM platform with lots of features. Airalo also has the most extensive selection of eSIMs in the market, offering data plans in over 200+ countries, regions and territories. I have found that Airalo has a more polished app and their buying experience is one of the best.
But Airhub has more plans in some countries and often has more competitive pricing for many countries. Airhub also has plans that include SMS and voice minutes, which Airalo doesn’t. I also think Airhub’s unlimited data plans are excellent value for money.
To learn more about Airalo, check out our complete Airalo review.
Nomad vs Airhub
Nomad is also one of the top alternatives on the eSIM market.
The truth is we highly recommend Nomad eSIM and Airalo as well.
But Nomad has the best user experience. They offer some cheaper local single-country plans where Airhub doesn’t really have good coverage. Nomad currently covers 112+ countries and regions worldwide.
Airhub has more data plans overall than Nomad, but the truth is they are both excellent eSIM providers. Nomad only offers a few unlimited plans and they don’t bundle plans with data, voice and SMS like Airhub does.
Want to learn more about Nomad? Check out our full Nomad eSIM review.
Holafly vs Airhub
Holafly approaches the eSIM industry with a slightly different offer.
They mostly only have unlimited data plans.
While they are often more expensive than the average eSIM provider, you get unlimited, which makes sense. Comparing Holafly’s unlimited plans vs Airhub’s unlimited plans, they are similar. We have found that Airhub can be a bit cheaper in some cases, but Holafly has more unlimited plans overall.
Read our Holafly eSIM review to see how the speed and performance results of the Holafly unlimited plans.
But for the most part, they tend to be pretty similar. Airhub does cover way more countries than Holafly, so keep that in mind.
